6/5/2023 For science I spent 30 minutes harvesting briar in the loop right outside Windsward. I netted 250 thorny vines. At the current cost (about 3g each on Castle of Steel) you would be better off farming logging, skinning, or mining and selling the result for gold. Then just buying the thorny vines from the market.
It does not appear harvesting gear or proficiency potions have any affect on thorny vines. You have a chance at getting one from each harvest and I never saw more than one harvested.
What a terrible grind.
